A little about me — and what I do for my clients.

Long before I thought of photography as a way of working, I was a student of design. Around that time I photographed a couple of family and friends' weddings, not realizing those candid images would become the catalyst for a life spent documenting weddings professionally.

My creative life began as a designer, and then evolved into working in advertising as a photographer and illustrator. Back then, my commercial work was pixel-perfect and heavily produced, while my personal photography was the opposite — gritty, close, and genuine. That contrast shaped my approach when I began to photograph weddings, and it’s an evolved into a way of working that lets me get close, while capturing real, unguarded, emotional moments between people.

I started photographing weddings full-time around the same time I met my wife, and since 2003 I've photographed hundreds of private celebrations locally and abroad, across a wide range of cultures and traditions.

What keeps me interested in documenting weddings isn't the expected or the planned elements — for me, it’s about finding beauty in the messy moments, being surprised when I learn something new, and following along while observing and capturing moments that can never be repeated.

Being married for over twenty years and a father to three kids shapes what I see and how I react. Now, I find myself relating as much to the parents' side of the story as to the couple's, and the photographs feel more well-rounded for it.

I'm a wedding photographer, and proud of the work I do but I'd rather say that I'm a documentary photographer who provides his clients with a set of images that shows what happened, and who was there to celebrate that day with them in the most genuine way possible.

I'll leave you with this: the most memorable photograph isn't the posed one, or the one that looks like everything else on social media. It's the unrepeatable and personal moments that happen on their own.
